Ron Danvers consults on the subject of wooden boat restoration having owned a number of wooden boats since 1970 and being involved in their maintenance, refitting, and design of interior accommodation. An attempt was made in 2015 to rehabilitate a severely dilapidated clinker built Golley Sea Skift C1960 - the prototype. This prototype is used as both a test bed for full rehabilitation and as a demonstration of how such vessels can be restored to working order, avoiding the risk of catastrophic failure of timber fixings under load.
Consultation of any aspect of wooden boat refitting and/or rehabilitation is undertaken including re-design of interior accommodation.
